After the series with Binghamton, Gillian and I packed up the apartment and the truck and prepared for our journey home. But it wasn't before the Jason Aldean and Eric Church came to town. (Once I figure out how to post photos I will upload some from the concert). We ended up getting lucky and got the opportunity to meet both of them and get pictures with them. I got my guitar signed by both and Gillian got a pair of cowboy boots signed.
The day after the concert, we headed down to Charlotte, NC to meet up with a friend for the night on our way to Alabama. The reason for the 16 hour detour across the country was my Grandma's house is in Northern Alabama where the tornados were and she needed some help with damages done around the house. We spent a week there cleaning and helping out with anything she needed. That area was pretty beat up from the tornados, with power lines down, trees blown over, and many homes destroyed. It was unlike anything I had ever seen.
During the free time we had down there we got to go fishing a couple times. We were enjoying the sun and catching a bunch of little blue gills and caught the occasional catfish, which I refused to touch. Those things are nasty with those whiskers on their face and they bark when they are flopping on the dock. I also went to the local watering hole and met a few beauties. One guy that was in the band introduced me to another guy who was playing at the bar and ended up being the bass player in the band Emerson Drive. I was pretty pumped to get to meet another country star in less than a week.
Finally, after a week in Alabama, we headed home to the Soo where I will be spending most of my time during the summer other than a few trips for training purposes and to go to Vancouver, BC for my wedding.
So that is a little bit of the catching up to what I have been up to lately. More to come soon
